Start Your Journey

Ville de Côté Gelée (VCG) is a 34 acre mixed use development being developed by Community Realty Partners, LLC in Broussard with frontage on Albertson Parkway and the Youngsville Highway (Hwy. 89).  VCG will include 60 single family homes, a business park and a mix of other residential and commercial options.  VCG will feature multiple lakes and a walking trail.  Our goal is to create a community where residents can LIVEWORK and PLAY.

Historical Significance

The original Acadian settlers arrived to the area now known as Broussard in the late 1700s. A severe winter in 1784 prompted the early settlers to name the area “Cote Gelee,” meaning “frozen embankment” or “frozen hill” due to the proximity of the area to the embankment of one of the old meandering courses of the Mississippi River. From 1784-1884, the area was known as Cote Gelee until it was renamed in 1884 to honor one of the early pioneers, Valsin Broussard, who was instrumental in the establishment of the area and his generous donations of land for a church, a cemetary, a private school, a public school, railroads and streets for a town.

Past Becomes Present

Just as the original settlers realized when they originally settled in the area in the late 1700s, many families have realized that the City of Broussard is a great place to “settle” and raise a family. The developers of Ville de Cote Gelee also realized this when they purchased the land where VCG will be developed. With water features and walking paths interwoven with a mix of single family homesites and eventually a business park, we hope to return to the original vision of the settlers of Cote Gelee and create a unique community.

Make Your History

Just as the original settlers realized when they originally established in the area, many families have realized that the City of Broussard is a great place to settle down and raise a family.
